Passion. Values. Do you have them? What are they?
Are they yours or have they been defined by someone else?
I think it’s important to discover these individually or in business.
By asking ourselves what we value, what we’re passionate about we create a rich story that encompasses all.
I sometimes think we’re so busy stepping away from that we forget that stepping away is the first step to putting up barriers.
That when we step into, sit with, get curious we begin to understand who we are, why we are, what we do, why we do.
When we step into we become a richer person, business, community, and world.
I’ve been on a journey less traveled lately. Up and down valleys, through streams and rivers, flat plateaus, rolling hills and open roads. I’ve taken so many off shoots I’ve stopped asking why and just followed as the heart dictates.
I’ve stopped to smell the roses, pick lavender and daisy, place my hand on the trunk of a tree to feel; absorb its life energy. I’ve felt the sand between my toes. Watched dolphins play in the ocean. Heard the roar of the surf, its waves gliding across the sand to cover my toes.
I’ve journeyed through emotional paths that have been clearly marked “Do Not Enter”. I’ve taken them anyway. Embraced the quiet, dark night along these paths. Talked with spirits, sat with their (and my) vulnerability, fears and love. Relearned that all our stories are really one.
I’ve hit the forest trails to run and cycled the open road for countless, endless miles. I’ve discovered that the road less traveled is more than a journey, it’s been a calling. One of healing back to self, family, friends, love.
I hold sacred the knowledge that when we learn compassion and empathy we’re really learning about loving self. That in finding love and compassion our hearts radiate out to encompass all.
I see more meandering paths. Open roads and paths less traveled.
I can’t wait. Want to join me?
